The Iles de la Madeleine archipelago is a territory of over 200 square kilometers in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and is known for the beauty of its landscapes, its colorful houses and its many beaches as far as the eye can see. People know very little about the history behind this mysterious archipelago surrounded by the four maritime provinces, but which has nevertheless been a Québec region for nearly 50 years.

During our visit, we will trace the history of the Islands with you to the Mi`kmaq period, including the arrival of Jacques Cartier, the occupation of the Basques coming to hunt the walrus, the arrival of Samuel de Champlain in the 17th century, the settlement of the land by the Acadians in the 18th century and the domination of the Coffin family in the 19th century. In addition, each guide will add their personal touch with crisp tales and anecdotes creating travel memories.
