The archipelago of the Magdalen Islands is a territory of more than 200 square km located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Islands is known for the beauty of its landscapes, its colourful houses and its many beaches as far as the eye can see. One thing that many visitors do not realize is the whole story behind this mysterious archipelago located at the centre of 4 maritime provinces, but which has been Quebec territory for nearly 250 years.

In order to discover many of its secrets and better understand the distinctive character of the Madelinots, take a guided tour with one of our experienced guides, with a colourful accent. During your visit, we will trace the history of the islands with you to the Mi’kmaq period, including the arrival of Jacques Cartier, the occupation of the Basques who came to hunt walrus, the stopover of Samuel de Champlain in the 17th century, the settlement of the territory by the Acadians in the 18th century and the domination of the Coffin family in the 19th century.
